To change your address on your Citizen Card, you must first enter the ePortugal portal. So, on the home page, click on “change the address on your Citizen Card”. You will be redirected to a new page.

Then click on “change online”. Authenticate however you prefer in the system. Once you enter, read the instructions and click “next” at the bottom of the page.

Now, check the data available on the portal. In this space you can even make the request on behalf of third parties, filling in the necessary data.

To do this, select “in your own name” or “in the name of a third party” in the “order placed” tab. Furthermore, click on “next”.

Then, select the entity to which you want to direct the request and also click on “next”. Then, in the next tab, enter the zip code and confirm the address, filling in all the data.

In fact, this letter can take up to five business days. However, if your new address is in the Azores, Madeira or abroad, the letter may take a little longer to arrive.

With your code, Citizen Card, PIN and card reader in hand, complete the change of address on the ePortugal website. Remember to authenticate to complete the order.

Once the change is confirmed, all entities selected by you will receive notification of the change. In a few days you will be able to enjoy the benefits of the Card with your address changed.

On the other hand, if you intend to place the order in person, you must go to one of the two counters: Espaço Cidadão or Cartão Cidadão service. In fact, you can find the locations online.
