The Emprego Interior mais Program was extended until December 31, 2023. Therefore, Portuguese citizens, emigrants and foreigners can participate, applying and receiving aid that can exceed €7,000.

Who can participate in the Emprego Interior Mais Program?

So, see below the conditions for you to apply for this program. 

  • Unemployed people or employees looking for a new job, registered with the IEFP or with the employment services of the Autonomous Regions can participate; 
  • In addition to them, people without a record of contributing to Social Security, as they are self-employed, until the previous month of application; 
  • People who created their own company or their own job in the month before applying; 
  • Emigrants who left Portugal after December 31, 2015, residing outside the country for at least one year; 
  • Citizens of the European Community, Switzerland, or other countries, who reside outside Portugal, as long as they have a valid title, qualified to carry out functional activities, with an employment contract or independent worker, in accordance with Law No. 23/2007; 
  • Foreigners, such as Brazilians, including those who live in Brazil and have plans to work in Portugal, as long as they are hired by any company in the world or are self-employed, are eligible, as long as they go through the procedures of the Foreigners and Borders Service (SEF) to obtain the residence visa.

Documents required to participate in the Program 

Now, see how to participate in the Emprego Interior Mais Program. In fact, the application must be made within 90 consecutive days (maximum period), after the start of the employment contract or creation of the company itself. 

Furthermore, the application can only be completed on the official website, is that ok? And the following documents must be presented by the candidate: 

  • Copy of the employment contract or declaration of the beginning of the activity or other document that proves the creation of the company itself; 
  • Document proving the change of residence. Detail: the candidate's current residence cannot be in a city in the interior of Portugal. Remembering that only those who do not currently live in a city in the interior of Portugal can apply for the program; 
  • Declaration of no debt due to taxpayer status before the Tax and Customs and Social Security Authority; 
  • Document that proves the family composition, in cases where the form contains members of the household, who will move with the candidate to the city in the interior of Portugal.
