To open your account at CGD, follow these quick and safe steps:
- First, access the Caixa Geral de Depósitos website;
- On the home page, click on “Caixadirecta”, in the top right corner of the screen;
- Then click on “Open account”, just below “I want to be a CGD customer”;
- Then, read the on-screen instructions and click on the account opening option again;
- Enter your NIF number and fill in the captcha code;
- Fill out the form that will appear on the page using your personal data, address and income;
- Download and install the CGD application and enter the code you received by email;
- Wait for a video call where your identity will be confirmed and then forward your personal documents to the institution.
Note: Calls only occur on weekdays between 9am and 10pm.
